The screw conveyor consists of a driving unit, a closed trough, and a rotating screw. The rotation of the screw pushes the material forward within the trough. The forces that prevent the material from rotating with the screw blades are the weight of the material itself and the frictional resistance from the trough. Screw conveyors are primarily used for transporting powdered, granular, and small block materials such as coal powder, sodium bicarbonate, recycled rubber powder, zinc oxide, calcium carbonate, and small coal pieces.
